Snow Day!

Jackson and I are enjoying a snow day today, another 6-8 inches on top of the 2 feet we already had:( . So I thought I would post a few more pictures that Aunt Carli took for me.
One of Jackson's favorite book is Good Night Gorilla, and because it only has a few words, he can "read" it by himself.

Jackson's new favorite song is Itsy-Bitsy-Spider. So here he is doing the spider, and then we all have to clap after we sing. (If you forget he will remind you -Mommy clap!)

I hope everyone is surviving all the snow and staying warm. (Except all of our family who were smart enough to move to warm climates!)

Cutest little cowboy

Grandma Smith gave Jackson a rocking horse and an adorable cowboy hat for Christmas. After we figured out how to stop the horse from singing and talking, Jackson loves it. (Jackson does not like when his toys talk or move)

He looks so cute in his little hat that I could not resist having Aunt Carli come over and take some pictures.

What good cowboy goes anywhere without his sippy cup?

Thanks Grandma Smith for the great present and Carli for the priceless pictures!

Happy 21 months!

Jackson is 21 months old today. It is starting to hit me that in a few months, my baby will no longer be a baby. Matt and I both are really enjoying this age-Jackson is so much fun!! (minus the couple of tantrums he has started to throw, hello two)
Jackson is so interested in everything and he learns things so quickly. He is at the age where he repeats EVERYTHING so Mommy and Daddy have to really watch what we say. He loves to sings songs with us and listen to books. He is speaking in sentences now and able to really communicate with us. He can sing the whole alphabet by himself and he is counting up to 15 on his own. I think this is a little advanced for his age, but I am sure that I am tiny bit biased :)

A few of Jackson's favorite things right now are Barney, Elmo, and he loves to play animals. He can tell you all of their names, and he loves to tell you what they say. He is also really into Mommy these days. He is very cuddly with me, which I am enjoying because I know it won't last long.

Some days I look at him and wonder where my little baby went because he is such a big boy now.

Rockabye Baby

Jackson's friend Emma brought her baby to Amy's house the other day. Amy showed Jackson how to "swaddle" the baby in a blanket. Since then, Jackson has been wrapping up his baby and carrying it around. It is so cute, he sings to the baby, and rocks her, and gives her kisses. We sing Rockabye Baby and Jackson sings his favorite song, the ABC's.

Cabin Fever

Jackson and I have had a wonderful 2 weeks together over my Christmas vacation. With the weather and all the things we have had going on, we have been at home a lot. Both of us were starting to feel a little cabin fever. We decided to brave the freezing rain advisory and head out to the zoo on our last day of break. It turned out perfect! There was no rain and the temperature was almost up to 40, warm for us Ohioans:). I think the weather scared everyone off because when we got there, there was only one other car in the whole lot. It was like having the zoo to ourselves!!!
The arctic animals were very active today, we got to see many of them up close. Jackson also got to touch real polar bear fur.

The polar bear was diving in the water and playing with his ball right in front of the window-Jackson loved it! He is still talking about the "polar bear play with ball".

All of the wolves came out and stood right in front of the window for us. Jackson called them "big doggies".

We even got to see the zookeepers feeding the seals their fish.
After the seals had their lunch, we went and had lunch at the Carnivore Cafe. Jackson decided all he wanted for lunch was ketchup which he ate with a fork. (Jackson is starting to show some two-year-old tendancies!!!)
We had such a good day, it was a wonderful way to end the best Christmas vacation I have ever had. Mommy does NOT want to go back to work tomorrow, I am going to miss spending as much time with my little man.

"In the Tent"

This past weekend Grammy and Grandpa Hanna came to our house to visit. We had such a good time with them!!

Gubbi and Cico came over for dinner on Friday night. Jackson was in heaven having four of his grandparents in the same place at the same time!! He kept telling everyone to get "in the tent!" At one point he had Grammy, Gubbi, and Cico in the tent at the same time! (he is hard to say no to). Unfortunately we did not get any pictures of Grandpa this time.

Thanks for coming to visit-can't wait to see you again!

Playdate with Colin

What handsome boys!!!!
Jackson and I went over to visit his "best friend" Colin, and Colin's mommy Emily. The boys have known each other since they were born. Emily is one of Aunt Carli's friends from grade school. The boys are only three weeks apart in age and they go to the sitter together three times a week. The boys gave each other a hug when it was time to go (Jackson only hugs by leaning his head on someone, he has not learned to use his arms yet)

Of course the boys both wanted the toy that the other one was playing with. I am sure that Amy has to do a lot of refereeing on the days she has both boys!!!

Colin loves Thomas the Train. He got a new train table for Christmas that the boys had a blast playing with.

Thanks for a fun morning!!!
