Mimi and Papu's Birthday

Mimi and Matt share the same birthday and Papu's birthday is a week later. We all got together at Aunt Terri and Uncle Pat's house to celebrate their 79th birthdays. We had a delicious dinner and then they opened their presents.

Then it was Jackson's favorite part of the night-cake! Papu is famous for taking icing off of everyones cakes. Jackson has learned this from him. Well tonight after a little prompting from Papu-Jackson leaned down and took a whole mouthful of frosting off the top of the cake!! Needless to say, Mommy was a bit embarassed.

The pumpkin cake was adorable-and tasted great too!

I think Aunt Carli is holding him back to keep him away from the cake, and Aunt Terri is trying to appease him by letting him lick the frosting off of the candles :) I definitely have a boy with a sweet tooth!!!

Jackson had so much fun running around with his cousins. He just adores Diana Lynn-I can't wait until she is old enough to babysit-she is wonderful with him.

Trunk or Treat

The PTO organizes a trunk or treat at school each year. All of the teachers bring our cars and pass out candy to the students. It is a lot of fun for us as well as the students. Jackson loves to come and help me pass out the candy to the students. He is still more interested in that than in getting his own candy. (not for long I am sure) He did very well considering we had over 500 students come through the line. He really enjoyed looking at all of their costumes. My student from last year were excited to see him and how much he had grown.

After the candy was gone we had to play on the play ground for a while. A little trickier in a dragon suit.

This slide is very FAST! Jackson came shooting out the end of it a few times.

He loved the teeter-totter.

Our trunk-all decked out.

Little Emeril

Jackson has become quite the little chef lately. He really enjoys helping out in the kitchen. I take a class after school every Monday. Gubbi picks him up and takes care of him for me. This week when I came home, they were making a pizza for dinner.

The little apron that Gubbi got him last Christmas.

Jackson got a little carried away putting the butter on the breadsticks-but they were still delicious!

As always the best part-eating his creation.

Daddy's Birthday

We had a very low key celebration for Daddy's birthday. Matt has been working seven days a week for the past few months. He took Sunday off for his birthday, and all he really wanted to do was relax and watch some football. We hung around the house (and watched the Browns lose) and got take out and just relaxed. Of course we had to have cake, so I ran out and got a Baskin-Robbins cake.

Jackosn is getting very good at blowing out the candles (when he is not stealing frosting off the cake)

I just had to include this picture. One of my favorite things about the colder weather is Jackson's footie pajamas-I love them!!

Apple Orchard and First Pony Ride!!

We attended kid's weekend at Erie Orchards today. They had all kinds of great activities for kids to do. I think that Jackson's favorite was the pony ride. He had so much fun. I thought that he might be a little bit nervous, but he was not at all. He smiled the entire ride and was saying "Whee and Yeah!" Daddy walked along next to him, but he did a really good job holding on by himself.

After the pony ride we went to play in the hay. They had one whole area filled up with hay for the little kids to play in. Jackson had a very hard time moving through it; he would take two steps and go down flat on his face, get up and do it again. He did not seem to mind though, he was running around with the other kids and jumping off of the bales of hay. I had to give him a good brush down and we found some more when we came home and changed clothes.

Driving the tractor.

It was very sunny today, so this picture has a lot of glare, but I thought it was cute.

Of course, we had to stop and look at the pumpkins. Jackson thought that we needed more, we persuaded him that we had enough at home already. It was a beautiful day at the orchard!

"I'm a Dragon!!!"

We had our first Halloween party last night. We went with Gubbi to Jenny and Craig's annual party. We had so much fun. There were lots of kids everywhere and wonderful costumes and decorations. The decorations have gotten a little scarier as their girls get older, but Jackson did very well.

Jackson loves to roar in his costume. He ran around the party saying "I am a Dragon- ROOAAR!!"

Marilyn and the Dragon

The dragon made sure that he fueled up with cupcakes-three to be exact!

A picture with the beautiful little witch Madelyn.

She is so cute!

We visited the arts and crafts room and made some masks and balloons and pictures.

Gubbi came with us, dressed like a rock star-or as Jackson called her a "rocket star".

Winding down at the end of the night, reading books with his rocket star :)

Thanks Jenny and Craig-it was a blast, as always-can't wait for next year!

Pumpkin Farm 2009

We took a trip out to the pumpkin farm to get our pumpkins. It was a beautiful sunny day and we wanted to make the most of our time before Daddy had to go to work. My professional photographer was previously booked (she always picks the paying customers over me) so these are just a few I took. I am hoping to get Carli to go with us some other time for some fall pics.

We had to really watch Jackson, he would pick up all these pumpkins and put into our cart-he wanted all of them!

We also got to feed some goats and chickens.

Jackson had a lot of fun climbing up the hay tower and sliding down.

Our annual picture in front of the giant pumpkin. I have to get last years picture from Carli so that I can compare them. He has grown so much this year.

Jackson helped Daddy take the pumpkins back to the car. We bought a new pumpkin carving kit as well, which Jackson thinks is his. He keeps asking me to get out his knives for him. (he thinks because they are little, they are for him) It will be very fun this year to carve pumpkins. I think we will take Jackson trick-or-treating to a few houses and see how he does. It should be a very fun Halloween!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Tuesday was my birthday. I had a nice night with my mom, sister, Mimi, Papu, and Jackson. We ordered dinner and stayed in and had a nice relaxing night. (very different than the birthdays of my early 20's :)

The beautiful and delicious cake that Gubbi and Jackson made for me. I wish I would have had a camera on Monday night when I picked Jax up. My mom has an apron for him-he looked so cute in it with frosting everywhere. He was so excited that they had baked a cake for me. He showed it to me at least ten times and kept talking about it all night. It was so sweet.

Practicing more silly faces with Aunt Carli and Uncle Joe.

Getting ready to light the candles.

Jackson put all the candles on the cake for us.

He also helped me blow the candles out.

Enjoying some of his hard work :)

Jackson enjoyed his piece of cake as well as Gubbi's. His favorite part is the frosting.

The best birthday card I have ever gotten! Jackson and Daddy also got me an Ipod Nano. It is very cool, Aunt Carli is currently teaching me how to use it :)

I had a wonderful birthday-it is amazing how Jackson can make everything so much better!!!
